Prominent among them is the “Jump ahead” button that helps users skip the boring part and go straight to the most attractive part of the video. Besides, there is a “Picture-in-picture” mode that allows you to view Shorts while using other applications.
YouTube is testing a number of new features for Premium users, including smart downloads for YouTube Shorts and Conversational Artificial Intelligence ( AI). The conversational AI feature can answer users’ questions through prompts, and suggest relevant content without doing video interruptions. Users can access the conversational AI feature through the “Ask” button below certain videos.
In addition, YouTube also introduced the “Jump ahead” button – a feature that automatically rewinds to the most interesting part of the video based on viewer data and AI technology. Android users in the US will be the first to experience these new features. YouTube said it will soon roll out on iOS devices in the next few weeks.
Not only that, YouTube Shorts – YouTube’s short video platform, has also been updated with a “Picture-in-picture” (PiP) mode that allows users to watch videos while working on other applications. Currently, YouTube has only applied the redesign of the “Watch” page to web users. According to YouTube, this design will bring a new and improved experience in finding relevant content, as well as interacting with comments.
