The iPad Pro M4 could kickstart Apple’s generation of ultra-thin devices, including the iPhone, MacBook Pro, and Apple Watch.

In a Bloomberg Power On report, reporter Mark Gurman said that Apple plans to thin out the iPhone, MacBook Pro and Apple Watch. Previously, the company unveiled the iPad Pro M4, Apple’s thinnest device ever (5.1 mm).

I know that Apple is focusing on developing a significantly thinner phone, launching at the same time as the iPhone 17 in 2025. The company also wants to reduce the thinness of the MacBook Pro and Apple Watch.

This is not the first time rumors have appeared about ultra-thin iPhones. In May, The Information cited supply chain sources as mentioning the existence of the device, which could be launched in 2025 and more expensive than the current iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Although there is no exact information about the thinness, analyst Ross Young said this model owns a 6.55-inch screen. Apple is said to be testing various thin iPhone designs with aluminum frames, the Dynamic Island is smaller.

In August 2023, Gurman mentioned the new Apple Watch model. Expected to be launched in 2024 or 2025, the device will be significantly thinner, using a magnet mechanism to attach the strap to help save space.

“Those involved in the development of the new generation Apple Watch said that this system takes up a significant amount of space, and it would be better if it was replaced with a large battery or other parts,” Gurman added.

Apple used to create many thin, eye-catching but problematic devices. The Verge page recalls some problems such as easily curved iPhones, limited ports, poor battery life, poor heat dissipation, and low-quality keyboards.

After many complaints and litigation, Apple returned to the traditional design. The iPhone 15 Pro and MacBook Pro are currently among the company’s thickest devices. From 2021, this laptop line switches to the M chip, many reconnection ports such as MagSafe, HDMI and SD card slot.
