Tesla’s humanoid robot caused a fever at an exhibition in China

Tesla’s second-generation humanoid robot Optimus made a strong impression when it appeared at an AI exhibition in Shanghai, China.

Tesla introduced the second-generation humanoid robot Optimus at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference held in Shanghai i on July 4. This is one of the few American artificial intelligence products to appear at China’s leading AI exhibition.

Although it is only placed behind the glass and does not move or interact with visitors, Optimus still impresses and attracts attention at the booth i exhibition.

Optimus is equipped with neural networks and computer vision technology developed by Tesla itself, making the robot capable of handling multiple tasksdifferent docks. This makes it considered the future of humanoid robots.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, stated at the company’s annual shareholder meeting that humanoid robots, although it has not been mass-produced, it can raise Tesla’s market capitalization to $25,000 billion in the future.

Tesla also launched an advertisement for humanoid robots on China’s Weibo social network, urging the public to “witness the next evolution of robotic robots people”.

In addition to Tesla, local exhibitors, including Fourier, Tlibot, Dataa Robotics, Robotera, Leju Robot, Shanghai Kepler Robot, and Ti5 Robot also brought their humanoid robot products to be showcased at the exhibition in Shanghai.

Although has begun to be used in many fields such as education, entertainment, healthcare, elderly care and manufacturingfactories, but these robots are still in the laboratory research stage and have not yet generated revenue.

According to an engineer at Tlibot, a company founded in 2012 in Mianyang City (Sichuan Province), despite being hailed as one of the most promising applications in the AI era, the high cost is a barrier that makes humanoid robotsto deploy on a large scale.

The engineer said a humanoid robot could cost anywhere from 500,000 yuan ($70,000) to 1 million yuan. depending on the complexity of its functions.

Meanwhile, Tesla’s Optimus is expected to sell for $30,000, which is much lower than other humanoid robots.
