Nissan GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition costs more than $150,000

The Nissan GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition is one of the last two versions before this “street supercar” is discontinued this year.

Besides the GT-R Skyline Edition, the Nissan GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition is a special edition marking 17 years of the famous Japanese sports car on the market before it was killed off this year.

The car is a tribute to the “Takumi” – engineers, “artisans” who hand-assemble the famous VR38DETT engine block of the Nissan GT-R R35.

This special edition was developed on the GT-R T-spec variant. In the US, the Nissan GT-R T-spec starts at $141,090, which is $20,000 more than the GT-R Premium.

As one of the iconic paint colors of the Skyline series and especially the GT-R, the Midnight Purple paint color option has the ability to change the effect with different viewing angles.

Still developing on the 3rd facelift of the GT-R since 2007, the car has been upgraded with a grille design, front bumper and air intakes, LED fog light cluster…

The only difference between the 2 versions is a set of 20-inch 9-spoke wheels painted in Gold produced by Rays. The car is also upgraded with carbon-ceramic brake discs made by NISMO.

The rear spoiler is also upgraded to be more powerful instead of rounded. The wind resistance coefficient remains the same at 0.26, but the pressure on the road surface is improved.

For the GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition, the Takumi badge will be completed in red letters, with a yellow VIN number printed card in the engine compartment.

The interior of the GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition has not changed too much with a horizontal layout according to the “horizontal-flow” taplo surface and an 8-inch touchscreen center screen.

Combined with the Midnight Purple paint color is a special Mori Green interior. The surface of the seats, taplo panels and doors are upholstered in high-quality Semi-Aniline leather and faux suede material.

The T-spec badge is placed on a central armrest with a surface made of carbon fiber. Nissan’s flagship sports car model still uses mechanical hand brakes.

The Nissan GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition is still equipped with a 3.8L twin-turbo V6 VR38DETT engine, 570 maximum horsepower and 633 Nm of peak torque.

The T-spec’s Vehicle Dynamic Control electronic balance system is calibrated by NISMO, combined with a set of wider front wheels and large front body panels.

The standard operating equipment shared with the GT-R Premium includes the Attesa E-TS full-time 4-wheel drive system, the BorgWarner 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, the Bilstein DampTronic suspension…

Nissan said that both the Skyline Edition and the T-spec Takumi Edition will be produced in quantities of “less than 200 units”, which will be available at dealerships this summer.

Exclusively for the US market, the Nissan GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition starts at $151,090, which is $20,000 more than the GT-R Skyline Edition and $10,000 more than the standard T-spec version.

After 17 years on the market, the Nissan GT-R R35 will stop production from 2025. The Nissan GT-R R36 will be developed on the Hyper Force concept, which will most likely be equipped with a pure electric engine.
