Just minutes after US President Joe Biden suddenly announced his withdrawal from the race for the White House, billionaire Elon Musk has publicly said that his friends in Silicon Valley have switched to supporting former President Donald Trump and the Republican Party.
“My wisest friends, including those who live in the San Francisco Bay Area who are longtime Democrats, are very excited about former President Donald J. Trump and vice presidential candidate Senator JD Vance,” Musk posted on X.
According to the Tesla CEO, the loyalty of the tech industry not only changes between the candidates, but there is also a reversal of views on which party will best represent the spirit of the United States.
“I believe in an America that maximizes freedom and individual values. Previously it was the Democratic Party, but now the pendulum has turned to the Republican Party,” the billionaire further revealed.
In the past few years, Musk has repeatedly expressed support for Mr. Trump and opposed some of President Joe Biden’s policies.
A few months before the US presidential election, billionaire Elon Musk publicly supported Trump’s re-election campaign.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the Tesla CEO is planning to support the campaign by pledging $45 million per month to the behind-the-scenes group tasked with motivating voters (America PAC).
I fully support former President Trump and hope he will recover quickly from the missed assassination,” Elon Musk wrote on X.
