SpaceX has just launched a new Starlink Mini transceiver with ultra-compact size and weight, promising to bring satellite Internet to every corner of the Earth.
The Starlink Mini runs on DC power, is about the size of a thick laptop, and has a built-in Wi-Fi router right inside the disk. Although it uses less energy than standard devices, Starlink Mini can provide Internet speeds of up to more than 100 Mbps.
According to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, this device will “change the world” and users will take less than 5 minutes to install. Notably, compared to standard Actuated disks and separate AC-powered Wi-Fi routers that consume 33-62 W, Mini disks consume only 20-40 W on average.

Thus, users can power the Mini disc with familiar devices such as the Anker Prime 27,650 mAh power bank (takes 2-3 hours), or the 10,000 mAh portable battery (takes about 1 hour).
The Starlink Mini requires a USB-C PD power supply with a minimum power of 100 W. It measures 298.5 x 259 x 38.5 mm and weighs only 1.1 kg. The device is supplied with a DC power cable and a 15 m stand. The total weight of the disc and accessories is only about 1.53 kg.
The product meets IP67 standards, has good dust and rainwater resistance, even when immersed in water for a short time.

The Starlink Mini costs $599, which is $100 more than the standard device. According to information from some customers in the US, the “Mini Roam” service package for Starlink Mini costs $30 per month, plus the existing Residential package for $120. This plan provides Starlink Mini users with 50 GB of mobile data per month, with the option to purchase an additional $1 per GB.
“Our goal is to reduce the cost of Starlink to a minimum to accommodate as many users as possible, especially in countries with high Internet demand such as the United States,” Starlink’s support page said.
In addition to its home market, Starlink Mini is already available in Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala and Panama. SpaceX said it will expand to more markets in the near future.
